Celeste Guerra

Celeste was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, graduating from P-SJ-A High School in 1988. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She then attended the University of Houston Law Center, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 1995.
Upon graduating law school,  Ms. Guerra  moved back to her hometown to  represent  the people in the community where she grew up.  She  served on the Board of Directors for the Hidalgo County Bar  Association and was the President of the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association.  She also volunteered to help her community by serving on the Board of Directors for Mujeres Unidas and was the President of Avance ,a nonprofit organization that helps advance socio economically  deprived Latino families through early childhood and parenting education.
Once her children graduated high school and were off to college, Ms. Guerra began more actively contributing to her community through her Leadership McAllen Class, Texas Exes of Hidalgo Starr as the scholarship chair and Special Olympics. She continues to strive to find ways to help the underserved community she represents
Ms. Guerra’s areas of practice have spanned both sides of the bar.   In her first job out of law school, she represented insurance companies and other entities in personal injury and medical malpractice cases. In 1999, she switched gears to represent  municipalities and school districts as general counsel and litigated several multi-party construction defect cases that netted multi million dollar settlements. Thereafter, her practice continued to focus on personal injury and general civil litigation.
In 2016, Ms. Guerra joined the Lawrence Law Firm, where she litigates commercial and residential  property  loss claims and insurance coverage issues. Ms. Guerra is fluent in Spanish and licensed to practice in the Southern District of Texas.
In her spare time, Celeste enjoys exercising, traveling, rooting for the Longhorns  and spending time with her daughter, son and down syndrome brother, who is under her care.
